Orthodontic Treatment Without Braces / Transparent aligners / Invisalign

It is a digital orthodontic treatment method developed as a result of the need for more comfortable and aesthetic alternatives to orthodontic treatments with new technology. The aim of the wire-free orthodontic treatment method is to correct the teeth with the help of custom-made, almost invisible transparent aligners. Since these aligners are transparent, they provide a much more aesthetic appearance and allow you to be comfortable in social life while correcting your teeth. This method is widely preferred by people who do not like the classic appearance of braces. Transparent aligners apply the force required to move the teeth with the help of small protrusions called ‘attachments’ added on the teeth in tooth color and allow your teeth to move to the planned position in a short time.

How is Orthodontic Treatment Without Braces Performed?

The patient is examined to determine the misalignment of the teeth and problems in the mouth. After determining the suitability of the patients for treatment with transparent aligners (Invisalign), intraoral measurements are taken with the help of intraoral scanner devices. Three-dimensional planning of the teeth is made with the help of a special computer program with the digital measurements taken together with radiographs and intraoral photographs. In this way, we can evaluate the image we aim to obtain after treatment together with our patients in the first session. Then, in accordance with the approved treatment plan, mass production of personalized aligners is started with the help of three-dimensional printers.

How Long Does Invisalign Treatment Take?

Invisalign treatment takes less time than conventional metal braces. Orthodontists recommend wearing clear aligners for an average of 20-22 hours a day for a successful treatment. They should be removed only during eating and oral care and kept in a special box during this process. The treatment process is completed in the specified time for people who follow the instructions during the treatment process and use the aligners regularly at the specified times.

Depending on the severity of the malocclusion and patient cooperation, invisalign treatment can last from 5 to 15 months on average. The aligners are usually changed every 7-10 days, a slight pressure may be felt as it takes some time for the teeth to get used to each aligner change.

Who Can Receive Invisalign Treatment?

Transparent aligners, that is, orthodontics without braces, are applied to people who have orthodontic disorders but do not prefer classical metal brackets.

As it is known, the appearance of braces is an image that some people, especially in working life, do not want. Invisalign treatment can be applied for all individuals from the age of 7.

Especially in the last 15 years, this method has started to be used frequently in our country and has spread from ear to ear. Invisalign treatment can be applied to people with low and medium level of distortion in their teeth.

In very serious distortions, metal braces should be used. Transparent plaque treatment can be applied to people who do not have problems with the jaw and do not have impacted teeth in the upper/lower jaw.
